Material Girls of Pueblo El Mirage, AZ

How fortunate for me!! I am not in Pueblo El Mirage, AZ 72 hours and I am a member of another quilt guild!! One thing about quilters, universally they are all a welcoming group who enjoy sharing their love of quilting, helping new quilters, eating at great restaurants and SHOP HOPS!! From TN to AZ and we are all cut from the same cloth.

What a treat!! I was invited to join the Material Girls on a "Shop Hop" last week. So much fun, thank you ladies. I am a new member of the Material Girls and look forward to our time together next year. Not all, but many of the women leave AZ and return to their home residence until Oct or Nov. This little community in Pueblo El Mirage grows to over 3,000 in peak season!

First Stop:
3 Dudes Quilting, 5053 E Elliott Rd, Phoenix.  This is a wonderful shop full of beautiful fabrics any quilter would be happy to own. The guys welcome you with tea, bottled water and homemade cookies and the latest and greatest in fabrics. (sorry about the pics, I forgot my camera and used my cellphone)
 3 Dudes Quilting

Thanks 3 Dudes, we will be back, love this shop and I love their sense of humor.

Next stop, lunch at Aunt Chilada's / 7330 N Dreamy Draw Rd, Phoenix, AZ
This place has a unique history and the best Mexican food, click on the link  "Aunt Chilada's"

Nestled in the shadow of the Squaw Peak Mountain, Aunt Chilada’s is truly an historic landmark with a personality all its own. Constructed in the 1890’s from desert stone and railroad ties, the original building served as a supply depot and general store for the mercury miners passing through the Dreamy Draw. (from their website)
I fell in love with these beautiful blue doors and the railroad tie arbor. Just my style.
See additional pictures and menu here. Awesome place!

Next shop: "Quiltz" 3851 E Thunderbird, Phoenix, AZ

Tons of notions, patterns and beautiful fabrics!

Next Stop- SAS Fabrics Superstore 9840 N. 19th Ave, Phoenix, AZ

If you are looking for lace, upholstery fabric, and tons of other  fabrics for that special wedding or project, this is your kind of place!!

Set aside some time to go thru tubs, bins, rolls and bolts of fabric! Feathers, lace, beads and boas!
Have you noticed the "eye candy" shops use to beckon us in. This one was very unique! LOL

Thanks ladies, I hear there are more shops to visit so until next time, be safe in your travels and we will all come back together again in the fall.
