Beautiful quilts quilted on a domestic machine by JoBeth

My sister-in-law, JoBeth came out to see me from SC this weekend and she brought some of her quilts for show and tell. I love her work and wanted to share some of it with you. Her specialty is hand quilting and her work is award winning but her new thing is free motion quilting on her domestic machine. Jo was like the rest of us, intimidated about making a mess of her quilt. Jo remembered me saying, just get in there and do it!! Boy did she. "Beautiful work Jo. My camera does not do her work justice.

My Quilt Room - Sew Organized again, ahh

You remember my mess from the craft show? Well I have a clean space and I can think now. When things are cluttered around me I cant function and it makes me feel out of control. (You wouldn't know it by the looks of the mess I am capable of making all by myself.) LOL

My husband made my sewing space for me a year or so ago. I LOVE IT!! I found a web site (Ivy Cottage Blog)  where she used  hollow core doors from Lowes and 4 bookshelves from Wal-Mart.

WALLA! You have a sewing room for very little money. I love the storage it gives me. Lots of space for books, patterns and great places to tuck baskets full of all the little things we quilters "must have". So what if we have two of everything right!

I'm sew happy things are clean. Now I can fill orders and create new wall hangings and table runners.
Happy Quilting

Mega Quilter Husqvarna and Inspira frame $625 SOLD- Ho Ho Ho

I love it but just don't have the room. As you can see I am elbows to elbows to the wall and need more room. If you are looking for good machine and quilt frame for an excellent price of $625  SOLD contact me thru e-mail at sewsouthernquilts@hotmail.com. I think the machine and frame are about 8 years old.

The Mega Quilter is a great general sewing and piecing machine and combined with the Inspira frame is a mid arm quilting machine. The Inspira frame is the model that has the table for the pantos on the top so you can have it against the wall because you do everything from the front of the machine. The frame can be set up as 5 foot or 10 foot. It includes a stitch regulator ("Quilters Cruise Control)a free motion foot and standard foot.

I found a video on "youtube" of someone quilting on this machine model.
Harp space is 9"

LOVE the Cruise Control

 Nice stitches

Plenty of room for a full or queen quilt.

I have a lot of pantographs I will give you with this machine.

Sew Southern Quilts Booth at the Craft Show & Sale

I have to say, this was so much fun but a tremendous amount of work. It is impossible to place a monetary value on the time invested in making a quilt no matter how small or large, but to hear someone say "Oh my, I just have to have it" or "My Mom will just love this" is more rewarding than you can imagine to a quilter; because to that person it is appreciated and loved; those moments are priceless and keep me doing what I love to do. Thank you so much to my craft show customers as well as my ETSY customers you are priceless.

Some pictures of my booth. I am so proud of what I was able to do.  This was my second show and I really want to do this again next year. I had hoped to have lots of new things to put in my ETSY shop but the clothesline quilts just about sold out as well as my table runners and wall hangings.

Oh well, I have tons of fabric and "little time" but the old saying is "Pressure" makes diamonds" so I am going to SHINE!!

If only you could have seen me when I arrived Friday night for set up. It was so funny. I was by myself and the hatch of the Vue was tied down. No kidding. I looked like the Clampetts with all of my stuff sticking out everywhere. Quilts,  Christmas tree, antique ladder, folding tables, wooden chair, baskets.... LOL
