Bear's Paw Quilt Block 12 inch - I love scrap quilts.

I was unable to find a 12 1/2 bear's paw quilt block pattern that was not paper pieced.  I played with blocks and half square triangles until I was successful. (For someone who quilts as much as I do you would think I like math, NOT)We now have a 12 1/2 inch bear paw block. I'll post the cutting directions later. I'm excited to get going on it, this is going to be a nice block for a table runner. Did I say I hate math?

One thing about saving all my scraps, I have a variety of fabric colors to choose from.
Hey, with a yard of fabric running $11 and $12 you save the scraps. I've been known to use the back side if the color is better on the back. The front cost the same as a back. Did you know that?

New Wall Hangings, Quilt Show and soooo much more this week.

Boy has it ever been a busy last couple of weeks. Too much to go into but I am working hard on new items for the shop. I belong to a wonderful quilt guild in the area, Piecemakers Quilt Guild and oh my, you would not believe the talented women in this group. They are wonderful about sharing ideas and techniques and have many years of experience. Some are published authors of books and patterns and others are qualified teachers. If you don’t belong to a guild now, find one in your area and join; girlfriends are awesome and we learn so much about each other. This week was our show and it was so successful. I worked two days of the show and to walk around and see so many different types of quilts is such an inspiration. I love it!!  I have so many ideas for new wall hangings and table runners; here is a peek at what is to come.
Awesome Civil War Quilts, Applique and always FABRIC!!

See, I really am working!! Coming soon to my shop!!

UFO Update: The Patio is in....

Update on Mr's UFO (my ufo)
The hole is dug, the sand is shoveled and he laid the rock; now to let it settle. (We are good at this part) Now the big discussion is what to set the rock in, concrete, polymeric sand, patio sand (we have 2 ½ tons of that) it is a shame it’s not the kind I use in my thread catchers. Just kidding….  Now for the landscaping around it…. How about a fire pit? Oh, I guess that’s not landscaping. Okay..

I even received a bonus when I started this project; Mr. also put my cast iron hand pump out for me. Look, he put a water pump in it also. He is such a sweetheart.

I just had to share pics of the Iris this year, they are so beautiful. Take time to enjoy a beautiful spring day and all the beautiful things around us.
